Telescope: Orion Starmax 127 (5") Maksutov-Cassegrain
Camera: Canon Powershot G3 4MP digital camera
Exposure: 1/125 seconds @ ISO 50 and f/2.0
Site location: Surrey BC
Any Other Pertinent Information: Coupled
with a ScopeTronix 25 mm plossal
eyepiece and camera adapter. Manual setting was used.
Processing:
This photo is composed of 6 frames that
formed a mosaic. Each frame is made of an average of 9 stacked
images. Each image
was stacked in Astrostack 2. Once all images were stacked,
brightness was adjusted in Astrostack 2. Photo frames were
then resized to a smaller size in ImageJ. Photo stitching was
also done in ImageJ. Final editing which included sharpness
filters was
done in Adobe Photoshop limited edition. Some images were slightly
darker then others so some processing was done to even brightness
out in final stitched image.
Additional Thoughts:
Seeing was fairly steady despite moon being close to the horizon.
This is the first image taken with my newly acquired 5" Maksutov-Cassegrain. |
